Help with receiving order notifications Please

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and am very hopeful that someone
here can help me with an on going problem I've been having
since mid summer.

I am having a problem in that I no longer receive notifications
from Zen Cart of what the customer has ordered. We receive only a notification from Paypal that money has arrived.

This is very frustrating because I have to write the customer to ask them what they ordered.

We used to receive a notification from Zen Cart of what was ordered, any comments the customer had and a shipping address on an invoice. We no longer get an invoice.

They do show up in the customer category,...... just not the order category.

I've called Paypal several times but they insist the trouble is
with Zen Cart. Of course Zen Cart does not provide a phone number and I have no way of contacting anyone to sort this out.

If anyone can give me assistance with this matter, it would be
very greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Diana

I am receiving the same complaint from a client of mine. She intermittently does not receive Order Confirmations, but she does receiver the PayPal IPN.

This has been going on since sometime in late September. Thought we had solved the probelm (server was blacklisted — Host problem). That has been taken care of. Now she is once again complaining she is not getting the Order Confirmation. I checked the server. It is not black listed.

I think it is a ZenCart problem. I can't solve it either.

I added my email to the list to see if I receiver her Order Confirmations. Maybe that will give me a clue.

I came here today to look for an answer. That is how I discovered your post.

Re: Help with receiving order notifications Please

So, you're evidently using PayPal Website Payments Standard module, which is completely dependent on pristine communications happening from PayPal's servers back to your server in order to complete each transaction. If ANYTHING goes wrong in that process, your store won't see the order and therefore cannot send out any order confirmations.

Your best solution is to click REMOVE on the Website Payments Standard module, and click INSTALL on the PayPal Express Checkout module. It will take PayPal transactions just like the other module, but will immediately save the order in your store and not have to rely on any of that other background communications to work. No additional fees. Just works better. Setup instructions in the module settings area and here: http://www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal It takes all of about 3 minutes to set up.

If you insist on using WPS for some peculiar reason, you can spend hours of your own time sorting out all your IPN problems here: http://www.zen-cart.com/wiki/index.php/PayPal
