choose attributes from popup

Hi,

I came across tokaidojapan.com and they have an option I would like to do as well in my shoe store I am currently building.

On product pages on tokaidojapan.com, options for products can be chosen by clicking on text that opens in a popup. When pressing a link in that popup, the chosen attribute is added to the product.

See https://www.tokaidojapan.com/ntokaido/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33_20&products_id=15 and then about half way of the page "Click here for Kanji Style Names or here for a Name in Katakana"

Is this a standard option in Zen-cart or do I need to install an addon? I tried contacting the website owner, but unfortunately I have not received a reply.

How is this done?

Thanks for your help,
Salo

That is not a module that I have seen contributed but there are so many that I may have missed it.
It looks to be custom code, and the site owner may or may not be willing to share
