Re: How to bypass categories page?

If you wanted the main column to show a category's first subcat instead of the list of all the category's subcats, you would have to write custom code for that. How is it useful to not show all of the subcats in a category?

Re: How to bypass categories page?

How can I change the link for the categories when it is clicked? Maybe I can call the one subcategory. Thanks.

Re: How to bypass categories page?

Your Template Monster template has modified the tpl_categories.php file that prepares the categories box output, and I don't know what it looks like to begin to modify it for your purpose.

Making this automatic to work for all current or new categories would require some major recoding, spanning a couple of files, and is beyond the scope of a forum post.

Re: How to bypass categories page?

I found the solution if anybody needs it for future this is one way you can skip the categories page.

goto $content .= $li_class; in this file
/wtdepot/includes/templates/theme296/sideboxes/tpl_categories.php

right before that line add following codes
$den=$box_categories_array[$i]['path'];
if (!strpos($den,"")) {
$a=substr($den,strpos($den,"=")+1);
$a=$a+1;
$den .='
'.$a;
$box_categories_array[$i]['path']=$den;}

You are done.

Re: How to bypass categories page?

So what you are doing is testing for a top category, and if it is top, adding one to the category id and adding the result as a subcategory id to the cPath in the link.

This will work for any top cat whose first subcat id immediately follows the top cat id, but will fail if the first subcat has any other id, or if there is no subcat for a given top cat.
