Fraudulent Orders

Hi, we are getting fraudulent orders from people using stolen Paypal info. The IP used traces to amazon.com or subsidiaries of amazon.com.

Anyone have suggestions on how to curtail this? I also need to record actual IP used to post the order and it needs to show in the orders history for that account and I am looking to view it in the admin panel. Anyone have suggestions?

Agreed, paypal insures against this type of problem either way, if you believe an item/order is fraudulent just talk to them. Usually the money and the product/cost of product is refunded although it may take some time.

Here is a few things we do to cover dodgy sales.

You have to look at the purchase and use some intuition. Persons name against the email address versus the payment method.

Ask yourself why would someone in a country that would have an item available in that country, be buying off you.

A dead give away is an eu country order with an email address of .com or the person does not query any extra postage for a sale going to an overseas country.

If in doubt contact your CC merchant or Paypal.
Remember that the CC companies or Banks etc will action the charge back clause and will automatically deduct or recover the payment money from your account or you.
