Stock at the attribute level question

I've been using one of the "stock by attributes" modules for quite some time. It seems they are unreliable after Zen Cart upgrades or end up with conflicts with other mods (Possibly COWOA). This becomes a real nightmare since most of our products inventory resides at the attribute level and certain items can be at very low levels and get sold out frequently. So when the stock doesn't get subtracted, it causes big headaches.

Can someone recommend a stock by attribute module that works fine with the latest Zen Cart upgrades and with COWOA mod?

It would be great if Zen Cart had this feature built in without the need for a 3rd part mod as this feature is so important.

Once COWOA was removed the stock by attributes were working again. So maybe the COWOA is just not compatible with it.
