hi, i am working on this site: https://www.soapmania.co.uk. What I would like is the following:

Have only the Featured and Specials side boxes on the home page, no category side box.
Then have only the category side box on the left hand side all throughout the site.

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :D

Try searching the Tutorials before posting.
For Categories sidebox, that is the default behaviour.

so is there no way to not have the category side box on the home page but on other pages?

everything is possible try playing with the conditions of the categories sidebox.

I highly recommend keeping the categories sidebox enabled so the customer doesn't get confused.
