Alysa Rounded Template Support Thread

I am also having some challenges with getting custom buttons to appear. Some will show up, some won't - they default to the zen-cart default buttons (I thought - so I copied over those files just to kludge a fix). Seems as though buttons get displayed all over the place - and I'm having lots of challenges figuring it all out.
Can you help?

Not quite true. Seems as though the "product details" button is using includes/templates/alysa_rounded/images/details.gif image file, when in button_names.php it's referred to as "button_goto_prod_details.gif", and is designed to use includes/templates/alysa_rounded/buttons/button_goto_prod_details.gif

Phew. that one's fixed... I copied the image I wanted for the "product details" button into the includes/templates/alysa_rounded/images directory, and voila! (using 1.4 version of the template - 1.5, although beautiful, doesn't look good at all with our "attribute images".

I LOVE this template - we're almost ready for launch. But the categories look really bare, compared to everything else, and we want to use images (buttons) for them.

Yes, the templates are all compatible with any properly installed module.

All of the buttons are in includes/templates/alysa_rounded/buttons/english.

Now when the customer tries to add something to the cart it won't add the item & it says the cart is empty?

This is not a template specific problem. I would recommend taking a look in your /cache folder for error logs and doing a search on the forum for others who have had the same or similar problems.

I have plug ins installed though I have done some testing and they are not the problem

My problem is that the add to cart button is not showing on the product pages I have not changed the type or file name from the org and not sure why it's not showing

The url to the image on your site is:

includes/templates/template_default/buttons/english/button_in_cart.png

the path to the button should be:

includes/templates/alysa_rounded/buttons/english/button_in_cart.gif

If you have changed the button_names.php file then you have to add your images to the directory:

includes/templates/alysa_rounded/buttons/english

Hi...I just loaded this template to my site and I LOVE it. I have a few questions about the cosmetics of my site...http://www.LonestarPrincess.com

1. NEW PRODUCTS: How do I get the main page to open with "New Products?"
   (you have to click the link for images to appear and I want them stationery. If I have Featured Products listed, it opens with those).

2. CONTENT BACKGROUND: I would like to have the main table covered with a pattern
   (as you can see, the pattern is in some places but not in all, in others it's just the matching color).

3. TOP NAVIGATION: I would like to use images in the top navigation and have figured out how to do that, but they aren't lining up right. The "HOME" link and "CHECKOUT" link drop down while the others stay in line. (I don't have them installed but would be happy to for reference.)

4. FEATURED PRODUCTS: I am using images in place of the "New, Featured, All and Specials", I had to point the english.php to these images, but the Featured image shows up in the footer also, is there a way to leave the link in the footer without an image and use an image on everything else for Featured?

5. BACKGROUND: I have an image I would like to use for my background that wraps around the content background but I can't seem to get it to line up right, it seems to offset. I created it at 950 and spaced it out from there. Does anyone know what size I would need to create this image to get it to line up correctly?

3. create a new constant and define it separately

The rest of your questions really are css related. I would strongly recommend doing a google search for a beginning css tutorial before attempting to make these types of modifications to the template. I would also recommend installing firebug and using the firefox web developer tools to help you with your customizations.

Thanks for your response Anne. The NEW PRODUCTS point worked perfect...Thank you. :)

As far as the other points are concerned, I have actually made all of theses changes already using Firebug, but these are the last did bits that don't seem to be cooperating. I will continue to research and pick away at it. If you think of anything you might be able to suggest (OR ANYONE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER) regarding the remaining points above, please post.

You can turn off the featured, specials, and new products on the home page in admin--configuration--index listing

Most, if not all of these questions have already been asked and answered here on the forum or can be answered by reading the readme file included in the template package. I don't mind helping out if you get stuck on something, but I do ask that you do your own leg work to try and find the answers that have already been posted.

Quick question on the template. I have all my files edited and looking the way I want them to on my test site. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in theory, I should be able to just upload those to the live site as long as I haven't hard-coded any changes in paths - yes? Thanks! :)

If you have any modules installed on your live site that have files in override directories, then you will need to copy those files to the new template override directory.
