Timeout Error: Whoops! Sorry, but after upgrade from 1.9.3d-1.9.3h

Just upgraded from 1.9.3d to 1.9.3h. When trying to check out, customers get this error:
**Whoops! Sorry, but you are not allowed to perform the action requested. **

You are still logged in to your account and may continue shopping. Please choose a destination from a menu.

Clearing cache seems to fix it (sometimes), but then it comes back.

I upgraded files one by one, starting with the 1.3.9e all the way to 1.3.9h

Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Hi,

I'm getting this also going from 1.3.9g to 1.3.9h when a user proceeds to checkout but it seems to only happen to some users and not all. Are we sure every changed file was listed in 1.3.9h?

For my customers it happens when logged in and proceeding from the shopping cart to checkout.

Actually i'm now seeing that the issue occurs when items are left in the cart from a previous session.. even previous sessions that was generated after the upgrade. If I empty the cart, log out, clear cache, then log in and i can add to cart and proceed to checkout. I can't proceed to checkout if items were left in the cart before.

I had a similar problem

An addon I was using on one site had a pre 139g version of
\includes\classes\shopping_cart.php in it that had not been updated.

So, how does one update a single file in the zencart world?
I generally just update the entire version, (using Dreamhost's "goodies - one-click installs" section);
I've never had to update a single file.

So, how does one update a single file in the zencart world?

You download a full copy of Zen Cart using the link at http://www.zen-cart.com, unzip it, and then upload the file you need to using FTP.

Eh, thanks.
I did a compare (diff and cmp) on the following files,
following a suggestion from another thread in this forum:

Seems like you might be missing updates to
one or more of these files. I recommend verifying
that they're all updated to the v139h version,
by re-uploading the v139h version of each:

- /includes/classes/shopping_cart.php
- /includes/modules/pages/checkout_confirmation/header_php.php
- /includes/modules/pages/checkout_payment/header_php.php
- /includes/modules/pages/checkout_shipping/header_php.php
- /includes/modules/pages/shopping_cart/header_php.php
- /ipn_main_handler.php
```.. and they were all up to date with the latest (v1.3.9h) download. So that's not where my problem lies. Does anyone have any other possibilities for why I'm getting this error?
Well, actually, apart from saying "So, how does one update a single file in the zencart world?" in a thread started by someone else you have never said what your problem is. A little more explanation might help.
Yes, oops. Bad etiquette.
I recently upgraded from v1.3.8 to v1.3.9h.
As far as I can remember, there are no addons.
PHP 5.2.14, Zend Engine v2.2.0 @ Dreamhost.
  1. When someone logs in to an account, with something already in the cart, and goes straight to checkout, they get the error:
Whoops! Sorry, but you are not allowed to perform the action requested.
You are still logged in to your account and may continue shopping. Please choose a destination from a menu.2) If they make any change to the shopping cart (add something, subtract something), checkout will then work.
I notice this error is in:
includes/languages/english/time_out.php
define('HEADING_TITLE_LOGGED_IN', 'Whoops! Sorry, but you are not allowed to perform the action requested. ');
define('TEXT_INFORMATION_LOGGED_IN', 'You are still logged in to your account and may continue shopping. Please choose a destination from a menu.');
It would be interesting to know if the other people experiencing this problem are also with Dreamhost. There's probably something in the scripting of 1.3.9h which takes a little more time to execute and this is enough to trip their servers. You could try:
  1. Taking a look at Tools --> Server Info, and seeing what setting they have for PHP Max Execution Time.
  2. Taking a look at your error log via your hosting control panel.
Re: Timeout Error: Whoops! Sorry, but after upgrade from 1.9.3d-1.9.3h
There have been quite a few of these errors reported recently - but the problem is invariably caused by add-ons which are not compatible with 1.3.9+ or else with a failure to update the full file set to 1.3.9+
See this thread as an example:
Re: Timeout Error: Whoops! Sorry, but after upgrade from 1.9.3d-1.9.3h
i've contacted the script creator, as i think it's probably the one called freegift wich give me problems, as i had to rewrite the file:
root/includes/classe/shopping-cart.php
thanx for your help anyway
max_execution_time = 60 (Local Value), 30 (Master Value)
Lots of errors, but mostly missing files, nothing that looks like it might solve this problem. To me, anyways.
I've checked, as much as I could, that all files were v1.3.9h; obviously I might still be missing some. How to find them?
I don't think I have any addons, but it's been a while since I've worked on this store. Is there a definitive way to see if I do, and what they are?
Use WinMerge or Beyond Compare to compare all of your website folders and files against a default copy of 1.3.9h. If you have extra files in your online copy then they're either new image files, hack files or files relating to add-ons which are installed.
