New install, login gives a 404 error.

Once more I come before the ZC geniuses, hat in hand...

New ZC 1.3.9 install, admin is working fine, been customizing and tweaking and everything...catalog site is fine, been loading products and so on...but I can't log on as a user! The main page has the link ("Welcome Guest! Would you like to log yourself in?"), but when I click on "log yourself in", I get a 404 error.

The URL it's trying to load is:
h t t p s://www5293.ssldomain.com/mysite/index.php?main_page=login

I know the SSL url - at least the www5293.ssldomain.com part - is right, since I've confirmed it three times already with my hosting provider.

I know I'm supposed to look in the ZenCart/includes/configure.php file, and those entries look right:

define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://www.mysite.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www5293.ssldomain.com/mysite);

So now I'm out of ideas...suggestions from the gurus are desperately needed!

Thanks in advance,
Gary

Re: New install, login gives a 404 error.

Who's your hosting company?

You said this URL is a problem: https://www5293.ssldomain.com/mysite/index.php?main_page=login
But ... what if you try this one: https://www5293.ssldomain.com/mysite/index.php
I'm guessing that one also gives you the same error, which suggests that you've still got a misconfiguration problem, such as the wrong paths specified.

What are your settings for DIR_WS_CATALOG and DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG and why?

Re: New install, login gives a 404 error.

Both URLs produce the same 404 error.

From the ZenCart/includes/configure.php file:
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/ZenCart/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');

Why? Um, I think that's what I was instructed to do during the installation...but so much digging and researching and troubleshooting of a half-dozen snafus has gone on over the past 72 hours, I don't precisely remember.

Re: New install, login gives a 404 error.

If https://www.yoursite.com points to your "site"...
and https://www.blah.ssldomain.com/mysite points to your "site"...

and your store is in a /ZenCart/ folder ...
then your ssl side needs to also point to that /ZenCart/ folder.

So, point DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG to point to /ZenCart/ as well.
