Re: UPS Pricing to much

Could you check your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... and see what the Tare Rates are ...

By default, for example, the small/medium Tare Rate setting for 0:3 is adding 3lbs to each order ... if you do not want this, change them to: 0:0

Re: UPS Pricing to much

You need to provide some sort of examples of the Ship From and Ship to addresses and the weight that you are shipping in order for us to test this and the amounts that you are seeing on the shipping methods ...

Re: UPS Pricing to much

You also might want to compare the rates generated by the shipping estimator on the UPS website. For smaller packages their rates can be ridiculous. If your tare is set correctly then it's probably right.

UPS.com says $9 something.

and my work is on a college campus, and we actually have a ups calculator here in our warehouse, and they told me it was $5.11 to ship it ground (which is the only method we are shipping).

Re: UPS Pricing to much

If you go to the Modules ... Shipping ... and click on the UPS shipping module ... what are the settings that show in the right panel?

If you go to the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... what are all of the settings that you see?

Re: UPS Pricing to much

CP is not one of the options available for pickup method listed. are you sure that is correct?

If that is correct, i did that, and i'm still getting 7.43 for UPS ground.

Re: UPS Pricing to much

It all depends on your account with UPS. Your university may have a better deal with UPS due to volume. We just set up a UPS account and needed to adjust our Tare to get it to match, pretty closely, what our shipping costs are going to be.

The best solution for us was to set a "flat rate" cost for our main product, then add the UPS options for 2nd day and overnight shipping.

Re: UPS Pricing to much

yeah i guess thats one way to do it. i should probably go back and make sure to check it again just in case. I highly doubt though since we are also offering priority, which is cheaper in the first place, that anyone is going to want UPS to begin with.

Re: UPS Pricing to much

Hello,

I talked to the UPS guys and they told me there is two types of rate on each account.

One is publisher rate and another one is your discounted price which UPS gonna bill you under your account.

Now question is how you wanna display the shipping rate? If you do not wanna make profit from your shipping then simply display the negotiation rate fileds from UPS xml.

You may need to download the xml details from the UPS developer site.

Now if you wanna keep little bit margin on shipping too, then simply add some margin by multiplying little bit percent say 10% on your negotiation rate! thats all and you are done.

Please note: UPS publisher rate is what, a regular person see on their website and negotiation rate refer to the rate they are giving you behind!

I hope above information help people to understand why UPS showing more price with the basic settings.

I might be wrong on some peoples opinion! if yes then please enlighten me.

Thank you everyone.
