Can't access admin or even shop directory

Suddenly I can't access my admin. Any idea why?

This message come up when I try to connect:

0 DB_ERROR_NOT_CONNECTED
in:
[select * from project_version WHERE project_version_key = 'Zen-Cart Database' ]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.

And the following comes up if I just try to go to the shop directory...

Well it's reacheable directly - through FTP addressing. I just can't log into the zencart admin or look at the page though a browser. I'd have though the problem might be at the zencart side.

I did change my main passwords for the site host - but can't see how that should stop a browser being pointed at the zencart directory.

Databases are NOT accessible through FTP....

I can access the database through PHP but I can't login to admin my zencart - and I can't access the zencart directory by browser. I can access teh database by all other means though

review the database connection settings in the includes/configure.php and in the admin/includes/configure.php
If you believe them to be correct then you will need to ask your host why the cart can not connect to the database with the given connection settings.

And if by PHP how are you doing this - with what?

I'm also locked out of the zencart directory completely with my browser.

I can access all files and everything on the server if I want to manipulate them through ftp or PHP. I just can't get to admin my store or to look at it even.

well where I'm confused is that I can access the database though PHP. I just can't acess the admin through zencart

Is the frontend loading correctly?

If so, make sure that the admin configure.php db details match the front end configure details EXACTLY

You'll have to excuse me - I don't know what you mean by that.

I didn't change anything that I'm aware off:

I've put a question to the Hosting company - they respond pretty rapidly normally.

The first anwser I got here was the right one - the problem was at the hosting end. My site userame and password were somehow too close to the database ones and this confused the system - however they fixed it withouth changing the usernames and passwords. At least I now know what it means when I can't access the database!

I realise what the "frontend" is - the PHP -Myadmin - for example - but it wasn't the issue.

Who is your hosting company? I'm having database issues right now as well.
