Items in one section on sale?

I've checked the board, and I can't find a solution to something I'd like to do on my site.

Is there a way to do a 40% off sale for one section?

Example: Comic Books
Then all 12 sections under Comic Books would be on sale.... (batman, Spiderman, etc etc) WITHOUT putting any other sections on sale....

Re: Items in one section on sale?

If all of the Products in the Comic Book Category use the categories_id for those Sub Categories as their master_categories_id ...

then, you could use Sale Maker to create a Sale by setting up your Sale and select the Comic Books Category which will select all the Sub Categories beneath it ...

I "get" what you're saying, and thank you for the reply - but I honestly have no clue where I'm supposed to do this....

Re: Items in one section on sale?

You can build a Sale on Categories with SaleMaker in the Catalog ... SaleMaker ...

This will let you set a Category or Categories to be on Sale ...

The Products in the Category that is set on Sale is based on the Products using that Category as its master_categories_id ...

If a Product is setup as a Linked Product ... and is setup for Category 10 and Category 12 where Category 10 is the master_categories_id ...

if the Sale is on Category 10 then the Product is on Sale ...

if the Sale is on Category 12 then the Product is NOT on Sale, because the Product is setup with the master_categories_id 10 so the Product does not "belong" to Category 12, so it won't get the SaleMaker sale setup on Category 12 ...
