Removing New Products Box from home page?

can someone please direct me to the file where i can remove the New Products box from my home page here?

Admin>Configuration>Index Listing>Show New Products on Main Page

Set to 0.

Is it possible in the Admin to set New Products centerbox to contain one quantity of new products for the home page, but place a different quantity in the New Products centerbox for other pages, such as top-level category page? I'd like to have lots of products in the centerbox on the home page, but not so many where the centerbox appears on a product listing page or cat w/ subcat page. thanks..
