Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

How do I edit (or even find???) the stylesheet.css? Can it be done through FrontPage?

includes/templates/ashley_pink/css/stylesheet.css

It would probably not be a good idea to use a wysiwyg program to edit this file. Use a text editor instead.

And why can't I access the existing buttons and just colorize them? Why won't any editing program, even Photoshop, open them?? That's the first time I've ever seen that happen, and it's frustrating (and not a little unnerving).

This is due the a compression anomaly. If your editing program will not open the buttons, then I would recommend creating new buttons.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

Thank you for such a wonderful template. I am having issues and hope you can help me. On the index page all I have displaying is t he new products for the month. I want the others to show to featured products etc. I have checked all settings in admin config and everything is set as it should be. I am wondering what I did wrong here. Can you help? Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

I answered my own question lol first you have to add some. Now I just need to figure out how to add random products there instead.. over 10,000 products would be easier to be random.. thank you

They should be showing randomly by default.

Thanks,

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

Okay, I finally found the correct stylesheet, managed to open it, managed to find a program that will give me the hex code I wanted (http://www.december.com/html/spec/swatchcontrol.html, in case anyone else ever needs to do this), and I even managed to change the background color. Whoo hoo!

Unfortunately I don't know which parameters I'm looking for to change the pink bar with the Home/Contact Us/etc. links in it, or the spacer lines between the Category links and Information links, or the spacer line between my product pictures and the New Products section, or the footer section just above the IP address.

Can you please tell me which keywords I'm looking for, so I can make those changes, too? I'm too unfamiliar with this code to just go randomly changing things to see what will happen...I guarantee I'll screw it up and not be able to fix it again. :yuck:

Thank you.

Gonna jump in a make a suggestion here.. You really should use the Firefox browsers and their web developers tools.. This will help you to EASILY identify which styles control what areas of your site.. This tool will help you to answer your questions..

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

By taking huge chances and just playing around, I managed to find some of the settings I wanted. Now I'm down to the spacer lines and hover colors on the Category links and Information links (left sidebars), and the footer section just above the IP address.

Which lines am I looking for in the stylesheet.css to change these colors?

When I'm done, you'll have an Ashley Green template! :laugh:

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

I saw your first post. With all due respect, my answer is no. The last time I tried to install Firefox, it totally screwed up my computer. I avoid it now at all costs. All I need is a couple of small bits of information and then I'll go away.

You need the stylesheet_betterCategoriesEzInfo.css and stylesheet_footer_menu.css.

I agree 100%. Life without these tools to me is like life before running water or electricity :wink:

and with all due respect, my suggestion stands.. You need tools that will help you identify which areas of your stylesheet control the various areas of your site.. Now if you don't want to use the Firefox webdeveloper tools (and FYI.. I won't be the last person on this forum who makes this suggestion), then you really should be looking for other tools that do what these tools do.. if you are going to try to do this on your own, then you really should have the RIGHT tools to help you help yourself..

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

Thank you--that did exactly what I wanted it to! :clap:

I just have one more question, and then I'll leave you all alone. I'd like to put the IP address and the Copyright/Powered By/Template By lines into the footer section. I know how to do it with html, but this stuff....... Well, I haven't a clue.

Anyway, the finished product is http://www.rainforest-pets.com/shoppingcart/ and if anyone would like the modified-color images and buttons, I'll be happy to send them to you.

These things should already be in the footer :ohmy:

You can add them to the includes/templates/ashley_pink/common/tpl_footer.php

Thanks

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

It's down there at the bottom of the page, but it's above the footer, not inside it...and it's invisible unless you drag your mouse across it to hightlight the text. Not sure how that happened. I've driven myself crazy looking for any of the text (i.e. "Copyright") so I can at least find out where it currently is in the files...but had no luck.

In stylesheet_footer_menu.php remove:

#siteinfoLegal {padding: .5em 0 0;font-size: 0.9em;/*text-align:right;*/width:100%;line-height:normal;clear:both;color:#fff;margin-left:20px;float:left;margin-top:-40px;}
#siteinfoLegal a {padding: 0 0.5em 0 0.5em;color: #fff;font-weight:bold;white-space: nowrap;}

and add:

#siteinfoLegal {padding: .5em 0 0;font-size: 0.9em;/*text-align:right;*/width:100%;line-height:normal;clear:both;color:#000;margin-left:20px;float:left;margin-top:0px;}
#siteinfoLegal a {padding: 0 0.5em 0 0.5em;color: #000;font-weight:bold;white-space: nowrap;}

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

Well, now it's visible, and right above the IP address--thank you! Unfortunately it's mostly falling out of the green footer box, and jammed all the way to the left side. Is there a way to raise it up so that it's in the middle-ish of the box, and center it?

Thanks again!

You can adjust the margins, etc. to move it where ever you like.

Thanks,

Anne

Re: Ashley Pink Template Support Thread

I'm quite sure that you can, blindfolded and half asleep...but I'm an absolute php moron! :laugh: The only thing I know for sure about php is that I really, really don't understand any of it. Give me html any day, I can dance circles around that.

Where and how do I change the margins? I just want to make a small change, nothing major...just centered in the middle of the box instead of half out the bottom.
