Looking for a simple gallery to use in a define page or and ezpage. I will be doing a photo shoot on dec.2 and i need a simple photogallery to display the images. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have been messing around with jquery and lightbox and i just cant seem to get them to work correctly.

Re: Looking for a simple gallery.

You might try this one, if you would like to show thumbnails that expand to full size on rollover. It's VERY simple to use.

Here's step by step:

  1. download the "expando.js" from their site.

  2. rename it to jscript_expando.js and upload it to your includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscrip/

  3. Forget about all the code you see on their page.......just copy and paste this part into your stylesheet.css:

img.expando{
border: none;
vertical-align: top;
}
  1. In your EZ-Page, select either select plain text before you click edit, or leave it on HTML, then select "source" (<>) from the editors' menu icons, and insert this:
<img class="expando" border="0" src="images/image.jpg" width="100" height="75">

Of course, you'll have to change the image name to your image name. And the example above also assumes that you uploaded your image into the main image directory.

So, trust me........ don't get lost in all of their directions......go there, download the expando.js, come back here, follow THESE directions, and your image will be on your page and expanding to full size on mouseover in about 5 minutes or less.

If, for some reason you have any problems........don't hesitate to ask.

They have several other scripts, but this is one of the simplest to install and use.

Hope this helps.

Re: Looking for a simple gallery.

ok i tried out what you said and i think it works well but is there a way to make all the thumbnails stay static and have the images display is a certain area. only reason i ask is cause im gonna have a lot of photos from the photo shoot im having on Dec. 2 and i want it to not get messy.

Re: Looking for a simple gallery.

If you don't want the expanding thumbnails, I guess you need to define "a simple photogallery to display the images"... what exactly do you want the gallery to do?

I can see your issue with that mod - the expanding image moves all the ones that follow it, and it could make the page very strange as it morphs. It needs some styling to keep the following images fixed.

Re: Looking for a simple gallery.

have a look at this simple script.
http://monc.se/kitchen/stew/gallery/

i was using this and i like it but i really want to have all the thumbnails on the bottom and have them load when you click them.

I know its probably really simple. i could create something in DW but thats just really old school, im trying to get with the times and use some JS. any help would be appreciated or even a point in the correct direction.
