Shouldn't this be possible? Skype sidebox

Wondering why all the Skype and other messaging sideboxes are so darn complex. They shouldn't need to be....

Let's take Skype for example. You can go to their page and get HTML code that displays your online/offline status. The code includes a click option that opens up a call or chat window in Skype.

Why shouldn't I be able to use that HTML pasted into a simple sidebox that would display their graphic. This would get rid of the SSL warnings because I can turn off sideboxes in SSL with one click.

It doesn't seem to want to do it though.

What happens when you try it ?

Well, if it helps any, I KNOW it's possible, as about 4 years ago I built the exact same thing using MSN Messenger (now WLM), so Skype shouldn't be any different. I started with the Blank Sidebox mod, stuck my code in there and it worked like a charm. Good luck with yours.

I must be doing something wrong then. Lemme take another stab or two at it....can't see why it wouldn't work.

Remember, if there are apostrophes or quotation marks, they must be properly escaped.
