Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Zen Cart 1.3.8a

Hi

None of the PayPal orders are coming through however payments are going through. I have changed to PayPal express and results are the same. No orders , confirmation nothing.

Any orders via direct bank transfer or Mail order is fine and works 100%

Can you please advice where to look?

Thank you

Here we go again.
Running old 1.3.8 code.
Running PayPal IPN.
Store cannot complete the saving of the order because of either a PHP error or an IPN validation failure.

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Thanks Dr,

I already had the myDEBUG in admin as well as the normal includes folder. Unfortunately It did not reproduce the error message or error file in the even with the write permissions on in the cache folder. There is nothing there and still no orders.

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

There are 3 stages to an Express Checkout transaction: SetExpressCheckout, GetExpressCheckoutDetails, and DoExpressCheckoutPayment. All three are required before a payment is taken by PayPal, and only after that will the order show in your store.
Your logs show only SetExpressCheckout.
This suggests that your customers aren't actually coming back from PayPal to your store, and thus are not making payments to PayPal and not storing orders in your store.

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Hi

Thank you for looking into my problem. This problem was also present when I had the other PayPal module Web Standards. I will now change to web standards and generate those log files and zip them again for you to have a look please. I think the problem is somewhere else but haven't got any idea where.

It would be a lot easier to troubleshoot if you were using v1.3.9

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Well it is hard to say but my customer claims

"few months ago - remember when I was getting those weird e-mails from Paypal and you said it was because I had more than one website attached to my PayPal account."

Please also note that this is an add-on domain and she has three domain and different websites all operating. It has been fine up until she started receiving the emails.

and here is the copy of the PayPal email.

Hello U.R. The Star DVD Australia,

Please check your server that handles PayPal Instant Payment Notification
(IPN) messages. Messages sent to the following URL(s) are not being
received:

http://www.giggleme.com.au/ipn_main_handler.php

If you do not recognize this URL, you may be using a service provider that is using IPN on your behalf. Please contact your service provider with the above information.

Once you or your service provider fix this problem, you or your service provider can resend the failed messages from the IPN History page. If this problem continues, PayPal may disable the IPN feature for your account.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue.

Thanks,

PayPal

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

What are your apache server's errorlog entries saying about rejecting PayPal's attempted visits to ipn_main_handler.php?

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Only Error logs in the cpanel I can see are called 'Error log' for giggleme.com.au . Is that what you need?

If so, here they are.

oopps

I just found the Apache logs. hang on. as there are so many for 400, 401, 403, 404 and 500 which one you need?
They are not the ones either because they are for edinting and they are empty. Can you help me to find where these log files might be please?

Maximum File Upload Size 5242880 . Could it be the file extension JPG in upper case?

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

The upload_max_size messages are problems your customers are having due to restrictions imposed by your PHP configuration.

The PHP Parse Error about problems with ipn_main_handler.php suggests why you're having problems with it. Perhaps that file is damaged and needs to be re-uploaded?

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Yes I have the same results. No orders even though it passes the charges to PayPal and payments goes through.

Dr . as you have suggested that error > "[30-Nov-2010 03:43:34] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ')' in /home/ustar/public_html/giggleme/ipn_main_handler.php on line 194"

would be Perhaps that file is damaged and needs to be re-uploaded? and the answer yes but since then I have tried a few times and interestingly no errors were recorded on the log file.

No orders even though it passes the charges to PayPal and payments goes through. Back to square one.

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

So, you've said "since then ... no errors were recorded on the log file.". I gather you're referring to the myDEBUG-xxxxx.log , right?

If there are no PHP errors in that file, then there should be new ipnxxxxxx.log files in your /includes/modules/payment/paypal/logs folder as per my post #2 earlier. What are their contents?

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

I am also having the same issue. I actually tested my pay pal account once and the order showed up on my administrative side fine. I recieved an order ysterday and it is not showing that there was an order made. It has cleared pay pal and now I am unable to see what the customer ordered. Please help I am very confused. What could cause it to work once and then not work again?

Re: Orders not coming through - Payments goes fine

Dr. Here are the files. One is using the PayPal's button and the other zencart's checkout button. Results are the same but log file content might differ and might be some importance to you.

http://www.giggleme.com.au/using checkout button.zip
http://www.giggleme.com.au/using PayPal Button.zip

There was a myDEBUG-xxxxx.log file and here is its content. But its date is 30th

"[30-Nov-2010 19:05:49] PHP Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/ustar/public_html/giggleme/includes/languages/english/advanced_search_result.php:137) in /home/ustar/public_html/giggleme/includes/functions/functions_general.php on line 46
"

And thank you for spending all your time with my problem. It is much appreciated :-)
