Product / Category Title Length

This may be simple for some, but I cannot find any settings for increasing my product and category title length's. I realise that having long titles is not great but it is not the title itself that I am trying to lengthen. I have started using basing html, like strong tags and h3 tags ..etc and I am constantly running out of space. Can anyone let me know how to broaden the title length, Thank you

Sorry I don't understand how I can link you to this issue, since the issue is within the admin of all zen cart users.

Let me explain a little more clearly. When creating a new category or product, you only get a limited amount of characters to add into the title box. This is a substantial amount of characters however when using html code in the title box to add text decoration this space becomes limited. Is there a way to increase the amount of characters allowed to be submitted into this box and successfully read?

Ahh now I get you, to be honest iv been messing around for zen for a while now and have not built any stores by hand for a few years and was thinking purely from a zen point of view rather than my design experience, lol.

Basically what I am trying to do is add <strong></strong> tags to all of my category and sub category titles. i dont have a clue on how to do this. I was about to do it by adding the tag within my title box but if you can direct with css that would be even better. You can see where I have done this if you click Aprilia and then you will see that the sub category Aprilia SR50 has <strong></strong> tags added. Well i want this added to ALL of my category and sub-category levels. There are a couple of levels which have not been added yet but which will fall underneath the bike models. I do not want the categories in my category sidebox changed though.

In a standard install this would be adding styling to #categoriesContent

You appear to have alter this to be a UL with li's

If it is still #categoriesContent
Then it can be styled with
#categoriesContent ul
#categoriesContent ul li
Etc

This is not php in any way and only standard css which you can google for allowable style entries

Strong would be replaced with bold and so forth in your templates stylesheet.css file

Yes I have years of experience with css my only issue with php was finding the location of the css files. I have however found it now and will have no issues editing my site. Thank you for your assistance.

So there is no simple solution to allow you to add extra character spaces to product and category title boxes?
I understand what you are saying about styling etc but this does still not solve my problem that the title box still does not accept enough characters. Also sometimes other tags need to be used like for example when using &. You do not need to do this but if you dont any page that this product then appears on will no longer pass html conformity. To some this is not important but it is just an example of how simply things like that make you make a decision about whether you want to code correctly and use 4 characters for an & symbol rather than just 1. My main reason is that for the products that I sell titles really need to be very explanatory so a litle more length would be nice. I was hoping that there was a simple line of code somewhere that rules the maximum length of a title but perhaps it is not that simple. This is all I real,y require help on. I do appreciate the styling tips though. Thank you

Record length is defined in the table for that record in the DB
usually a var char entry
One can change the variable charater length but only in the database using a tool like phpmyadmin
