Don't want to use/display stock levels

I've looked all over the admin area and the FAQ and can't locate where to say I do not want to track stock levels, and therefore, do not want to display the stock number.

Re: Don't want to use/display stock levels

can't locate where to say I do not want to track stock levels
admin > config > stock > several settings
do not want to display the stock number
admin > catalog > product type > at right "edit layout" > Show Quantity in Stock
