Sort Products Based On Price (Low To High) Not Working?

Hi,

I have ZenCart v1.3.9g installed and for some reason the pricing isn't sorted from Low to high (or High to low) when I click the Price option on the right.

Is this a common issue or does anyone know how to fix?

I wanted the price to be shown as default (low to high) I've tried adding 3a in the admin area but still the same?

Please any ideas anyone?

Do you import your products?

Do you use Linked Products?

If you import your Products and do NOT use Linked Products what is happening is you are missing the master_categories_id and the products_price_sorter on your Products in the products table ...

This can be fixed in the Tools ... Store Manager ... by running the:

Reset ALL Products Master Categories ID
to be used for Linked Products and Pricing: Reset

then run the:

Update ALL Products Price Sorter
to be able to sort by displayed prices: Update

If you do use Linked Products, then you may need to update some of the Products or Categories of Products to set the master_categories_id correctly before running the Update on the Products Price Sorter ...

If you do not import your Products, then you will want to change to the Classic Template and test things to see if this is a template issue ...

I do import my products but don't "link" them.

I've tried as you suggested but no change :-(

Any ideas?

Using phpMyAdmin, look at your table:
products

do you see values for all of them for:
master_categories_id
products_price_sorter

Hi,

master_categories_id contains the category ID for which the product is supposed to belong to.

However, products_price_sorter contains 0.00 for all products - Should the actual price of the product be contained within this field?

The products_price_sorter holds the lowest Price of a Product ... if those are 0 ... run from the Tools ... Store Manager ...

to be able to sort by displayed prices: Update

Now, all of the Products in the products table should hold a value in the products_price_sorter ...

If it doesn't then you have bad data from your import ...
