1.38a to 1.39h upgrade problems - Never get database needs updating

Ok I upgraded my webstore jsut fins all went perfect, I installed a fresh 1.39e, setup all my addons and what nots, did a SQL backup from 1.38a, went to 1.39e restored DB, go tthe DB needs optimization (or upgrade) and all info fully restored :)

NOW

I am assiting a friend with his site, we are both using the same host, I did everything to his store as I did to mine

BUT, I never get the DB needs optimzation (upgrade) prompt like I did with my store

so I ran the zc_install again with DB upgrade only but I get error's with tax_split_checkout table and customer table, nothing actually happens and no updates to his site at all

any one have any Insight?

I tried 1.39 and 1.39d and still not getting the DB needs to be converted prompt to work on 1.39

I am :bangin: stumped as to why his wont work like mine did

your title says you are upgrading from138 to 139h but in your text you talk about 139e and 139d

can you clarify this- it seems confusing as what you are doing.
