I'd like to set up an expedited shipping module

Hi,

I'd like to set up a module so customers can ship products via 2-3 day mail.

There'd be a flat rate for first item, and flat rate for subsequent items.

I'm using v1.3.9f

Did you try the Item Rate where you setup the amount Per Item and then a handling charge for the difference of the 1st Item to the 2nd Item charge?

Thanks for the reply! I considered that option, but my concerns were two-fold:

1. The flat rate for the first item would be $9.98. The second, third, fourth, etc. item would be $5.99. If I include the $5.99 in the handling fee field, that total cost for the first item would be $15.98, rather than $9.98. If I'm not mistaken?

2. Also, I need a way to alert the customer that Expedited Shipping is an option. Like a Description field?

Set the Handling fee to:
9.98 - 5.99 = 3.99

Set the rate per Item to:
5.99

Now the first Item is $9.98 and each additional Item is $5.99 ...

Then, change the language file for the Item Rate item to read as you want it displayed to the customer ...
