How to process this order? some items are out of stock

Hi, if some products in customer's order are unavailable, what is the proper handle process in zen cart?

for example: One customer paid for the order which has 10 products, but admin found later 4 items inside are out of stock, then how should the admin process the order? There are no way to edit the order in admin panel to change one product to 'unavailable'

There is no right or wrong way with regard Zen. It is entirely dependant on your store's policy. For example, we have clients who run store where they order in specific products as they are ordered on the site. Other stores keep accurate stock levels within Zen, and then don't let customers checkout if they are buying more than the number available.

It really does depend on you and your store.

You might look at installing Super Orders from the contributions section. This allows you to print partial packing slips, so if you only send half an order, you can mark which items have been despatched.
