Move category description next to picture

Hi,

First of all I would like to say this is a great Forum, with very helpful people. I have been able to sort out alot of question by just searching here. But this time I can't find an answer.... so hopefully someone can help or at least point me in the right direction.

I would like the Category description to be beside the picture and not underneath is. Is this possible, and if so, how can I and where can I change it.

I have version 1.3.9. I am using the Classic Template.

Your question is a little bit misleading. It could apply to a large number of files. Please clarify? A link to your site wouldn't hurt.

I have looked using Firefox and IE and with both I see the description as shown in the printscreen - underneath the image.

Here is the direct link to the Category where I have put the test text.

Can you please show me a printscreen of what you can see, cause this getting confusing :(

okay, can at least others reading this post tell me if they also see the Category description beside or underneath the image? Or someone point me in the right direction? I am not refering to the products, here I also see the description beside the picture, I am refering to the image on the top that describes the Categorie.

I use IE, so if you are seeing it on Firefox (which I am not) how can I make it IE compatible to ?

Update your stylesheet.css file to add:

.categoryImg {float: left;}

You should really copy your template-related files into folders other than "classic" (and set the new template name as your default); otherwise, you'll run into problems/more work when you upgrade.

Uppppssssss didn't think about that re. the template.  I simply customised the classic.  Is that still possible to do now?  Would it work if I renamed my template and just put the classic back in?

You can simply copy all the "classic" folders you've changed to "your new template name" folders and then restore the "classic" folders to their release-level files; then choose your new template via your admin to activate it.

Look for the line that reads:

#logo, .centerBoxContents, .specialsListBoxContents, .categoryListBoxContents, .centerBoxContentsAlsoPurch, .attribImg {
	float: left;
	}

and change it to:

#logo, .centerBoxContents, .specialsListBoxContents, .categoryListBoxContents, .centerBoxContentsAlsoPurch, .attribImg, .categoryImg {
	float: left;
	}

I have changed the text as you suggested, but now it's also move the box *Filter Results by: * up to be aligned with the image as instead of staying under it.

Something still missing?

Add this, following the previous change:

#indexProductListCatDescription+form {clear: both; float: left;}

Unfortunately, the "filter" form doesn't have its own ID, so the CSS above indicates that a <form> (the filter) that directly follows an indexProductListCatDescription should have this style applied.

Thank you so much for trying, but it's not working.

It's fixing up the Category I was using as sample, but the others were then all mucked up. It moved all the subcategories to be aligned with the main Category image. :( Sorry hard to explain. I have put it back as it was. I give up, it's obviously more work then I thought.

I appreciate you tip about my template. In the meantime I have my customerised template with a new name, and the classic is back in as is :) So thank you again.

Can one of the mods please delete the links
