I do not believe that there is a text limit, what are you seeing?

By default, products_name column in in products_description table has a length of 64
You would have to increase it if you want a longer title

NOTE: if you intend to make the products_name longer in the products table, you will also want to make it longer in the orders_products table as well ...

If you are trying to turn off Product Descriptions in a listing then look in the Listing settings in the Configuration such as Product Listing and set it smaller or to 0 for OFF ...
