Restrict Popup image size?

Hi there, i have some Standard images...low res..
but i also have some HI Res and DETAILED images, all of the same products etc
when i upload the detailed image, the thumbnail is fine, but when i click to enlarge, its MAHUSSIVVE!!! just 1 part of the image fills my whole screen
is there any way to make it so that the customer can zoom in and out and scroll around on the image, or restrict the product popup image to 800x800??
or is this making it very hard on myself??

First you need to know that browsers only display at 72DPI so any "detailed" imae only wastes bandwidth as it is not rendered at 300 or 600 DPI and this extra info is just interpolated and discarded

The popup displays the image at native size, so you can/need to convert them to say 640X480 or so and upload them

ahhh, ya learn something new everyday, didn't know browsers are restricted to 72dpi...
might aswell stick to the standard images that are smaller then... cant be bothered to resize 16k of images....

Re: Restrict Popup image size?

There are supposed to be batch resizers that can process all of them automatically... search the web and see what you find.

Re: Restrict Popup image size?

Photo Shop can also do this in mass with what they call an "action"

Re: Restrict Popup image size?

Could you have Photoshop auto-load a huge batch of files to run this on?

Yes, I do this alot - combination of the batch command and an action of what is to be done

And Google for "photo shop batch process action"

Here are some really cool ones for other things
