Products page layout, is there an ap for more customization?

Looking for an add on aplication that will give me the most flexibility on my products page.

I would like to have a large image to the left with a box to the right contianing the detalied product information.

I have seen something similar but I don't know if it fit into a zen cart format.

Would incorporating a lightbox work?

There are several customized product info page layouts in Free Addons. There is no app that lets you drag&drop sections or the like; modifying the layout (if you don't want one of the ones in Free Addons) is pretty simple, moving labeled blocks of code in tpl_product_info_display.php and adding/changing stylesheet rules. We can advise on the best way to get a particular effect if you can't find it.

Now that I am far enough along to see a product image up, I need to address the layout.

Looked through the free aps and it looked like most were going to replace or over ride more than the products page.

Point me in the right direction and I will try again.

Still looking to get text bulleted by group if possible, and the background color behind the product text changed (for starters).

Those things sound like items you would put in your description HTML (<ul> lists for bullets) and your stylesheet (background colors for the description and bullet styling if other than default).

Do I need to code this in (sectors for info)?

Or is there an ap that will help me accomplish what I want?

Is it possible to break the text box into three columns and/or different sectors?

My goal is to get pertinent information grouped together and get away from the paragraph default format.

Sectors for info? Do you mean separating parts of the description into groups or areas? If so, you can add HTML tags like
<div id="section1"> ... </div> around each section, and style those ids in your stylesheet with CSS rules like
#section1 {color: #112233; background-color: #aabbcc;}

Everything is possible but you won't find an add on with this layout as it seems only relevant to you and your website.

Also if you choose to customize the product info page to fit this layout, all your products would have the same layout so you have to ask your self "Will all your product have the same information listed on this page?"
How do you plan on adding the 3 columns in description: using html table in description or creating different database tables for each of the column?

Once you have answers to these questions, you can start by changing the product_info page and editing the css to achieve the layout you want.

Simply answer: Yes it's possible if you know how to do it.

Most if not all of that layout can be done by moving sections of code in tpl_product_info_display.php, adding HTML markup in your description and styling elements in your stylesheet. The 3-column section is legitimately a table, and can be done with <table> markup.
You need to know some HTML and CSS to be able to modify the layout here or elsewhere effectively.
