Customer input on shopping cart

Is there a way for the customer to put in additional information on the products such as sizes of item they have for us to receive with order? On our site we have where you can custom order laptop wraps and other devices, but need a input form or just text box on the shopping cart to be able to get size of laptop for customization. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
