Show attribute sale price with regular price

Does any one know an easy fix to also display the attribute ORIGINAL price when an item is on "special"?

95% of our products are priced by attribute with zero base price. When we apply a special discount the attribute price displays with the discount so it doesn't really look like it's on sale.

Is there any way to make ALL the attribute options show the Original Price -- similar to the "starting at price" which displays for the first attribute only?

I am having a similar problem with jewelery store. I'll try to describe here:

Products are priced by attribute
One price for silver, one price for gold
Starting at price shows in product description (great!), but for silver price only (bummer)
Sale prices showing at checkout (awesome!), but only sale price and not original price (bummer)

So in the end when a user puts an order through, it looks like nothing is on sale, and the user is not receiving a discounted price, when they actually are.

If someone could point us in the right direction, I would be forever grateful. :-)

I think I may have found a solution. I have found an add on titled "Shopping Cart Original Price". I've downloaded and read documentation, and it looks to be a rather simple fix.

I'm going to give it a shot and I'll let you know how it works out!
