hsbc secure epayments gateway

Hi does anybody know of a payment module to use hsbc to process payments through hsbc secure epayments gateway ?

I have tried to download the foamcow module but it goes to a 404 page.

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

What you would have to do is to get hold of the osCommerce HSBC Secure ePayments module and adapt it to work with Zen Cart. If you know some PHP then it should not be terribly difficult to do, but if you don't then you'd need to get a developer on board.

However, the HSBC module is not something I would recommend as it is a devil to get working properly at the best of times.

For off-site payment processing I would recommend Protx Form, and for on-site payment processing I would recommend Protx Direct.

Actually, I have just downloaded the old Zen Cart archive of that module, and at first glance cannot see any difference between it and the old osCommerce module. It does not appear to have been modified at all.

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

Ok thanks for this. Problem I have is the person I'm developing the site for has signed to take payments direct with HSBC for 18 months. They sent a DVD with all the files I supposedly needed to plug it into zen cart, however they aren't exactly explanatory and I haven't got a clue what needs to go where. HSBC don't appear to know much about it either every time I speak to them which is useful. I need to be able to process payments direct into a HSBC bank account which you would think would be fairly easy.

Anyway, if you have a link to the HSBC module that would be great as a starting point. Unfortunately the person I'm developing this for is insisting that we get it working somehow, unless there's some other module that will transfer the funds direct into their bank account?

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

It really depends upon what the hosting company you're using is like, because they will have to upload two files into the "Shared Library" folder for the website before you can get this module to work. These are in addition to files which have to be loaded into the cgi-bin. The cgi-bin files are written in c++ and are "command executable" files, and not all hosts allow them to run on their servers.

One of the two files you'll need added to the Shared Librray folder is: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3

The other is called: libCcCpiTools.so

The other files go in the cgi-bin and need permissions of 755

It is possible to get HSBC to refund the payment for the 18 months contract - if you are forceful enough.

When seeking phone support for HSBC Secure ePayments you need to ring their "ICG Department". The number used to be: 0845 702-3344 (but this may have changed). The people in that department know what they are doing.

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

ok thanks for this. The host allows most things to run so I'll check with them.

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

Hi just had a look on the dvd supplied by HSBC and I don't have any CGI files. The server I'm using is Linux based.

I have libCcCpiTools.so and a folder called sample with some more files in it:

OrderHash.e

Results.e

TestHash.e

sample.html

And thats it. Any ideas?

libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 is a system file. Your hosts must install this old version in addition to the newer version that is probably already installed in the Shared Library folder.

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

Ok so how do I connect this up to zen cart? Surely there must be some zen cart files somewhere that have to be added into the payments modules?

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

Agh, now you know why I used to charge £a.lot plus vat for installing this and getting it to work!

The only module available is in the "archive" section of Free Add-Ons - which is where you'll find the link to the archives.

Re: hsbc secure epayments gateway

Excuse my language but you could say something like 'Ball Ache' springs to mind. Nightmare!

Sorry for harassing you over this. It should be easier really.

I've never noticed that archives link for zen modules so learned something new at least :-) Even though it was staring me in the face!

Anyway thanks for all your help. If I get it working I shall report back.
