create a page _2 that lists the featured products

HI ,
I am trying to create a zen cart page that would display the featured products in the center column.
The aim is to utilize the easy slider image ( a collage of products)link to link to the page which would have the featured products that were shown in the collage.
I have tried to insert the tpl_page_2_default.php code into the define_page_2.php and then link to that but it I guess that's not all there is to it, or its's not the way to do it.

The url that I use is store//index.php?main_page=page_2 which results in only the page title

Any help with the logic of which goes where first would be helpful.

Thank you.

This code, when pasted into the tpl_page_3_default.php, generates a page that displays the featured products only. It can be linked to with the following url snippet, after your store name:
www...sk.com/store/index.php?main_page=page_3
