Customers don't purchase since adding USPS shipping module [urgent]

I noticed after setting up the shipping and using the USPS module, I've had several new customers, but no new orders. Obviously there is something wrong here. One guy said it was trying to charge WAY too much for shipment.

Is there a better method for shipping? Is using zones better than the USPS module? I just added that since we primarily use USPS for all shipments.

I'm in the US and ship outside of the country A LOT. I want to make all shipments here in the US free, and ANY order over $300 free worldwide. Again, is setting up zones the best way to go about this?

Can someone please advise on what to do? I'm losing out on customers here!

Your Tare Settings are:

Package Tare Small to Medium - added percentage:weight 0:3
Larger packages - added packaging percentage:weight 10:0
You are adding 3lbs on all small and medium orders and 10% on all Large orders ...

If you do not mean to add that extra weight, then set those to 0:0 ... so additional weight is not added to the order ...

This month is usually slow for online retailer anyway so you sure your rates are the reason customers aren't buying.

Also you can do testing on random product shipping rates by using the USPS website and see what kind of rates you are getting compare to your website.

Finally, you know your products so you can make a decision on what you want to charge customer or do free shipping.

If you want Free Shipping for ALL Orders for ALL people in the US, including all US Territories, Islands etc. then you can set the Free shipping in the Modules ... Order Totals ... and Enable the Free Shipping on Orders of: 0.00 and set to National

You can either build a Zone Definition for the Rest of the World and install the Free Shipping Options freeoptions shipping module and set the Total >= 300.00 and add your Rest of the World Zone Definition to it ... this would then show the Free Shipping Option in additional to the other shipping methods ...

Or, you can customize the code in the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping to use multiple amounts for the Total and all of the other places in the code that uses this setting ...

I installed "free shipping options," but don't see an area where I can do what you describe.

Free Shipping Options freeoptions does not have anything for National ...

If you want to limit who can use that shipping module, then you need to build a Zone Definition that is Defined for the Rest of the World ...

The choice for "National" is only in the second method where instead of using a Shipping Module you would use the Order Total module for Shipping ot_shipping ...

National means just for your country ...

For Free Shipping to the US on all orders, I would use the Free Shipping Options freeoptions and set the Total >= 0 ...

Then, build a Zone Definition for the United States where you build into the Details what you consider to be the United States ...

Add that Zone Definition to the Free Shipping Options freeoptions and you will now see for the US the Free Shipping Options in addition to any other shipping methods so that someone from the US can select the Free Shipping or pick an alternative method of shipping ...

FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper is for use with Products that are marked as Always Free Shipping or 0 weight, when 0 weight is defined to mean Free Shipping in the Shipping/Packaging ...

The dot is yellow because you have a Zone Definition set on the shipping module ...

You need to go to your Zone Definitions and click on Details and see what you have set up for the Details of this Zone Definition ...

You appear to have added Tax Rates to it that you do not need ... you need the Zone Definition Details setup to define what Country and States you want to use or set the Country and All Zones for the Country if you mean the United States, All 50 States plus DC, All US Territories and Islands and the Armed Forces ...

i have it working so its free in the USA, but i did a test address in england for an order under $300 and it's still showing the free shipping module.
