Free shipping ($50+), Per Item $49<

Hi Guys,

I have found a number of threads that seem to be addressing what I am having trouble with but the solutions haven't worked for me so I decided to write my own thread.

I want to have free shipping for orders of over $50. I have managed to do that using the admin/shipping module but it overrides the per item shipping charge even when it's below a $50 order.

FREE SHIPPING module doesn't do what i want and free shipping options doesn't work either.

What are the setting I should have to make this work?

btw I'm using only Google checkout and I only sell within the US.

If you want Free Shipping for everyone on orders over $50.00 then you want to go to the Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping and enable the Free Shipping and set to 50.00 (make sure not to include currency symbols) and set to National ... National being all of the United States including all US Islands, Territories and Armed Forces ...

Then, set up your Item Rate item shipping module with the amount you want per Item ...

New, when the Free Shipping kicks in, that will be the only thing that shows when orders are >= $50.00 ...

After doing this, the per item works but orders over $50 don't initiate the free shipping.

Sorry ... but I really do not know anything about Google Checkout to help you with this ...

Hmm, GC is taking the shipping information, pricing, product info etc all from zen cart so I don't think it's a GC problem. When I change the per item shipping price within Zen cart, it automatically changes in the GC checkout.

If I use the free shipping options, free shipping appears but it overlaps all orders, even below $50.

Has anyone had any success with a similar model?

Google Checkout + Free Shipping for $X+ orders?

It seems like the options are within zencart, I just can't seem to get them to work for me.
