Help! I need to change permissions in my folder

Help! I am trying to find out what the numbers are that I type in to change the permissions in my folders to read, write execute. I have been told the windows server is different that the Linux server and I was only given the Linux information on my install instructions. Please help I have been trying to insall Zen-cart for a week now - everything has been an issue - installing ver 5

Oh, I forgot to mention I am trying to install on a windows server not Linux.

You already have one support thread open about this, which has been answered. Please don't open additional threads as it is against forum rules and also confuses people trying to help.

But on this one occasion I'll answer here - the numbers are the same for permissions whether on Linux or Windows servers.

Please update the other thread if you have further issues.

Ok, I thought I would try another area because you told me in my last post in general questions that I should go to a hosting company that has a Linux server and I thought you could not help me. I was trying to ask my question in a area of people that are using the windows servers. In the future I will stick to one posting area. Sorry about the confusion.
