Quick and Easy Category Passwording
I have tried various mods in the ZC forum to password a category and have yet to have any success with any of them.
I've located a mod that functions fully in ZC to password categories. All I've done is re-write the install documentation. The original and only file in the mod has not been modified by me and is as I received it. It's quick and easy to get in place and working (so the name Quick and Easy Category Passwording....).
What this mod does:
It allows the store admin to password protect a specific category with or without sub-categories (or a number of categories with or without sub-categories) in a store. The admin creates and maintains usernames and passwords for those users the admin wants to have special access.
It's a VERY easy install. Other than adding a small code snippet to the root/index.php file of your store it does NOT alter ANY ZC files in the store/includes or store/admin/includes areas.
