Installing Zen-cart through the browser gives blank page

I just downloaded ZenCart v1.3.9 and uploaded the files to my FTP. I followed the instructions about renaming the configure.php files and changing the permissions for some of the files and folders. If I go to the location of ZenCart in order to start installation, I do get the screen titled "Hello. Thank you for loading Zen Cart™.". When I click the 'click here' to begin installation (and go to /zc_install/index.php), I get a blank page. Nothing at all. Does anyone have any clue?

I would first try and upload the files again as something may be missing or corrupt.

What program are you using to do your FTP? Using browser-based FTP is not advised. There are too many limitations with browser FTP systems.

You should use a dedicated FTP program. Filezilla is freeware, but is insecure. I use Ipswitch WS-FTP Pro.

Secondly, you should edit PHP files using a PLAIN TEXT EDITOR.

I use EMERALD EDITOR and NOTEPAD++.

Both are freeware.

I'm assuming that was a typo, because you don't rename the configure.php files.
