Category/Manufacturer Dropdown Menu

I'm trying to add a horizontal navigation bar to my website which will have a dropdown list for both category and manufacturers. Is there an addon out there for this or could someone tell me how i could achieve this?

For manufacturer ,you can activate sidebox

in admin>>tools>>layout boxes controller
