Using drop down menu for selecting weight of produce…

Hi,
I am working on a website for organic fruits and vegetables. Produce is sold by weight and not by quantity. I created an attribute dropdown list enabling the customer to select the weight of the product.

I have the base price of the product OK and when the drop down menu opens, next to each weight option (one kilo in increments of 0.5 kilos up to 10 kilos) the additional price to the base price is shown. e.g. base price is $10 (for example) – if the customer selects 1.5 kilos, the attribute in the drop down box is as follows: 1.5 kilos ($5 more) I can live with that, however, I would prefer to remove the info in the bracket altogether… can someone assist?

My next question is that in the shopping cart itself, I have the column for total and price… as I am pricing by attributes, the price is in effect is the total, however, I would like to have the base price only in the price column… I would greatly appreciate some suggestions here….`

I have the base price of the product OK

as I am pricing by attributes,
These are contradict each other

You either have no base price entered and check the priced by attributes box or not

As you can see, I have a base price... that I placed with the product.
So then you are not using "priced by attributes"
