Limiting country selection

Hi all, I just started an online store and since my business is still new I would like to ship my products to a certain countries only (ie. US and Canada) because I am more familiar with the shipping cost to those countries...

Could someone please tell me how I could edit the list of countries shown from the drop down menu at the customer sign-up page?

Make a backup of the database tables countries and zones

Then in the admin delete all but what you want

Save the backups if you later want to add any - you can restore them

It is not in a file
It is in the database for your shop

Use your host provided phpmyadmin to access it

Or, instead of deleting countries, you could build a Zone Definition that includes only the Countries where you ship and add that to your shipping modules ...

This allows Grandma in the UK to send little Tiny Tim, last reported living in Canada, to buy him a new crutch ... :smile:

NOTE: You can always add to the text on the create account where you ship ...
