Attribute Controller not loading

Hi there,

I did an upgrade of Zencart from 1.3.9a to 1.3.9h.

On upgrade I went through and merged the content and customisations.

When I open the Attribute Controller on admin, and attempt to add new content or image, I am redirected to the Index.php page and the request is not processed.

I have restored the old version, but this has similar problems - For example, unable to Add Image etc.

I haven't touched the code base in a long time now, and the system was implemented by another developer, so have little clue as to what could be wrong.

Any ideas? How can I provide more info for further diagnosis?

Did you merge/touch any admin files?
Why & what?

Gone through an remerged, no longer redirects, and have error when trying to add a new Image.

On old version, could add images.

Duplicate Attribute - Attribute was not added -:TEXT

None, apart from customers and headers.php. Only for amendments. Not the attribute controller.

Exactly what admin files
name & path & what you changed

As stated, I had not changed all the files, only the two above.

First, can you explain this, as there seems to be a difference in interface

NO, first provide the two full file names and the path that you have changed, and what you changed

Addition to admin\includes\languages\english\customers.php

From admin\includes\header.php, removed the Zencart <IMG> from the top.

Ok, That 3rd party module should have no effect on your issue

A stock install does not exhibit what the issue you have posted about

Suggest that you check that you replaced the changed files and also check for the removed files

I am also having this issue with 1.3.9h where I get bumped out to the admin home page when I try to insert an option in the Attributes Controller. I have added many modules and customized many files to this site. And perhaps it isn't even a problem with a modified file - but instead with a file that was corrupted during upload.

Can you tell me where to look, in general, to re-upload files to repair this. Such as, "probably the problem file is in admin/includes". Or something like that, so I can narrow my search down?

Just to make sure you understand: I am not asking for you to diagnose my problem. I am asking what file affect the Attributes Controller and are "likely suspects". I could then start which checking, re-uploading (or merging) those. Thanks!

I have the same issue
Whats odd is that when I install the software on my home machine the problem goes away

now when I say install, I actually mean I git cloned it and imported the DB so I know that both installs are identical

the difference is one machine is windows XP with apache 2.2, mysql 5.1.57 and php 5.3

That one works fine

but on my linux box (server) it is centos 5.7 with apache 2.2, php 5.1.6 and mysql 5.0.77

I am using zencart v1.3.9h with
easy populate
image handler2
column_layout_grid_for_product_listing
dual_pricing_1.8
zen_lightbox_1-6-2

My guess is the problem is the version of PHP and if it wasn't for the fact that this is not the only software running on the box I'd consider upgrading php. but I can't do that and need to resolve the issue.

Whats even more odd was that at one time it did work. I deleted those attributes as they were wrong and when I tried to redo them this issue arose.

Another obvious possible problem is permissions, so I gave the linux box full read/write permissions like XP has and the problem continued to occur. so its not a permissions issue.

I will try to downgrade php on my dev box (xp) and see if the issue occurs

After several hours degrading my home PC I still couldnt get the problem to re-occur

I downgraded apache to 2.0 so I could downgrade php to 5.1.6

After re importing the original database from the live site I attempted to add attributes. worked just fine!

That destroys my hypothesis that the issue was php version related.

I'll try another couple of things. Perhaps there is some db corruption and exporting and importing the DB resolved it.

I'll try that next.

Well It looks like I was mistaken. when I git cloned zencart the git repo on the server was not up to date. it was missing the dual pricing plugin. when I added that then it stopped working.

I can now debug it on my dev box

I'll get back with the cause and fix as soon as I find it

Ok Found the bug, No fix yet but it should not be too hard the Dual Pricing 1.8 module is not 1.3.9h compatible

There is a missing field in the attributes controller form the securityToken hidden field is not provided and therefore when submitted the form redirects to index.php

This is a stark reminder of why you should never mix code and presentation

My fix will be custom so i won't submit it here
