Product that is not yet in stock.... to preview

Is there a way to set up a "preview" of stock on the way. that does not allow customers to purchase until product arrives.
or even a 24 hour tease of what is coming.

simply set the stock level to 0
then you could edit the Out of stock notice to read out of stock coming soon or something?

I added the product as "in stock" and then put a date it will be available.
