which credit card option

Hello, I am new to ecoomerce. I am building small site and looking for shopping cart for only few items.

This is perhaps is a simple question. does zencart provide credit card payment or must i also install something else? I look through faq and do not find the answer.

If i must also install other software for persons to add credit card information, what is best one for good security but not a lot of money?

With a mod you can collect credit card information however be careful that your processing bank is ok with this procedure. You need to be PCI compliant.

you can also use a service. These you will need to scrutinize for installation costs and processing costs. Also will they do what you need for your business.

The two that is already in the program is paypal and authorize.net
I use neither so cant help with opinion there. We process our own in our B&M.

PayPal Express Checkout is a safe and secure option. Customers don't need a PP account, just a valid CC. Setup is free and the module is included in ZC

So I understand from answers that only cost is from PayPal. I do not buy credit card processing from anyone? Is this correct?

Paypal and authorize.net is your processor and they will charge credit percent and monthly fees - authorize will charge a set up but check out the monthly fees and the percent of visa and MC they MAY be such that the monthly fee will be recouped in time - Do your home work!

For smaller order volumes PayPal Express Checkout appears to be more cost effective (no monthly fees, only a percentage of the transaction is payable).

Once you get into higher order volumes you may want to contract a bank to process your CC payments.

Obtain some terms and conditions from various processors and then crunch the numbers.
