No payments offered and stuck on shipping page

Hi There,

I originally thought this was Paypal Express issue. Please see thread: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?p=989099#post989099 but now I realize it is more of a shipping issue. Moneyorder nor PayPal will close a deal. customers get stuck on the shipping page. I've spend countless hours looking at the forums, going back over my shipping modules, etc, reviewing my cache logs (nothing to report with the last 10 attempts at purchasing products) and the paypal logs. And I'm 100% stumped!

Here are my thoughts (which may not lead to the resolution)

1. There are 4 products that are for virtual tickets. They're not in a paper format and they're not downloadable. However there is free shipping for these products. THe remaining products are checked "normal shipping rules" and there is a weight applied. Shipping is determined by the weight.

Hello Pet Herbal Remedies,

Make your "Sort Order" in the Table Rate is not the same as the others.

Change it from 0 to 1 or another number. See if that helps.

I am doing my absolute best and trying to problem solve this issue. But yet there are no error logs for the last 6 hours (timeout in developers toolkit) and none on the PayPal side and yet my customers still sit at Step 2 of 3 with no button to checkout. ALso my mail order will not work.

I created an account, put a membership in the cart and got to the shipping page, selected Free Shipping, got to the Payment page, clicked on the Paypal button and went to your Paypal page. Is it after payment at Paypal that the problem occurs ?

THank you for responding! Yes, it's after the PayPal area that the problem occurs. Also, I can't pay with moneyorder either. So I think it's a shipping/payment issue? I'll be available for your response. Thank you so much... Lynn

I got this when I clicked Confirm Order using the Check/Money Order option: Email Error: SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. I created a new account with a valid email address, and didn't receive the welcome email, so it looks like either your email settings may be messed up, or something's wrong with your server.

Try changing the Admin - Email Options - Transport Method to PHP or SMTPAUTH and see if it works.

Thanks so much but that change didn't work. I have been testing my emails through Tools-Send Email and I've been receiving them with SMTP as the Email Transport Method.

I should mention that it's a window host (inherited) not a linux host and it's through GoDaddy (I've read the bashing about them). Any other thoughts much appreciated, lynn

Okay. I've been on the phone with GoDaddy for the past hour. My question to you is how did you find the SMTP error? I am not getting it on my end: in cache folder/or paypal debug and not in an email... Much much appreciated, Lynn

Okay. I've read through the tutorials including one on Wiki and specifically with GoDaddy. I'm up to speed with everything that's been requested. I spent an hour on the phone with GoDaddy. They checked that emails can send and receive through my account and the relay-hosting.secureserver.net

I can send through Newsletters (and receive). I can also receive from Contact Us. However I cannot receive from new customers/nor can they receive a confirmation email. NOR can I get to the confirm order page with either Mail Order or PayPal Express. I'm getting closer to madness... Are there any other directions I can look? Please.........

UPDATE: New members are now receiving emails. It seems as though email is not an issue. Customers STILL CANT close the deal. Help???

To the zentester who was so kind to place an order through the money order: How did you do it? When I log in as an existing customer I am not able to 'choose my payment method' instead I'm STILL stuck at continue shopping. I'm glad to see you could place an order but it's not working fully. I've put this back in the hands of GoDaddy...although I don't understand why the confirm checkout button has NEVER showed...or did it for you? I'm confused, battered and beyond annoyed. I'll get to the bottom of this and I thank you so much for your help.

:frusty: Okay so I've worked with GoDaddy and I've downloaded the email archiver in the event there were commnunication errors I could relay to GoDaddy. There seems to be no issues right now and I STILL CAN'T CHECKOUT. It's not even an option for Mail Order or PayPal. I can get to the PayPal screen but then it takes me back to the shipping page with no button to checkout. Can someone please please please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lynn

I just completed two orders (#5 and #6), one in IE8 and one in FF.

I put a membership in the cart, clicked on Go To Checkout.

Selected Check/Money Order as payment, clicked on Continue Shopping (which is the wrong button, but it does take me to the Order Confirmation page).

Clicked Confirm Order and landed at the Checkout Success page.

Both orders are in My Account.

Ten minutes later, I haven't received either order confirmation email.

Are you able to do as I did above, and if not, where is it failing ?

I will say that all pages on your site load pretty slowly here (3-5 second delay on each page change).

I won't say more about your host ...

OMG. I am beside myself. I have NEVER been able to get to the checkout button through mail order... I can't say how many times I've tried. And I just tried again! And I've tried in FF and IE!

These are my steps:

1. Log out (in case I'm logged in as one of my other test persons)
2. Add a product to my cart
3. Choose "go to checkout"
4. Sign in
5. Returned to shipping info with a continue shopping button and TEXT that says "continue to step 2" with no button and no way of checking out.

I'm absolutely stumped why I can't and you can...

By the way I just received order confirmations for your orders.

Can you please place an order with a product, such as a book or something...

I just ordered another membership and a very nice Sherpa Sweatshirt (#7 and #8) and all is good, except the emails take 15 minutes to arrive.
