bmz_cache, can I delete files

I have a bmz_cache file that has every image ever used and or downloaded or added to my web site stored there. Can I delete any of these files/images that are lets say 6Mos. or older, or could that affect some of the images on my site that have been there since inception of my site.

Do the images still exist in your /images folder?

In the admin > tools > image handler > select the admin tab

Clear image cache

It will rebuild
