Help with brand new site and template

hello all!

I need a little help here, as I am very new to Zen Cart and how it works. I just installed Zen Cart on my website and then I went to download the template, "Pure Red", but for some reason it does not look right at all to me....

Please take a look at the site- http://oneshotoptics.com

My questions are:

Why do the links at the top of page in the nav bar have all the extra type?
What is going on with the "floating" text under the search bar on the left?
Where is the "log in" links and such under red nav bar?
Why is there "HEADER_CURRENCY" type floating next to the currency box on the left...

Look at this site http://cranbrookconserves.co.uk/ then look at my site http://oneshotoptics.com why are they so different looking, but yet we are using the same templates...Am I missing something here or...

The site I want my site to look like is http://www.transeltech.com/, we are using the same template, but for some reason mine is messed up...

THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

Re: Help with brand new site and template

When you see the upper case text like that, it means that the constant isn't defined, so you're seeing the constant name instead.

In almost every case, it means that a language file is missing or corrupted. Check the files that came with the template to make sure you uploaded them all properly.

Re: Help with brand new site and template

Lol...how do I see if the files were not uploaded properly? I have tried like 4 different templates and they all seem to do this same type of thing with the floating letters and such...

Thanks****:frusty:

Re: Help with brand new site and template

I would guess that includes/languages/english/pure_red_free/header.php is missing or corrupted.

Thanks so much for your help first off...And second, I went into my FTP and tried to follow that path you gave me EXACTLY and when i go to includes then languages then english, once im in the english folder, there is NOTHING about the pure_red_free...

I will upload the template file I uploaded on my site through FTP, possible you can check the files (because I clearly have not a clue what im doing) and see whats missing.

I really do appreciate your help!!!! :D:D

Update I can not upload what I said I would upload because its too big! so now....:censored::censored::censored: :(

Re: Help with brand new site and template

The instructions in that template have you upload the zip file and extract it on the server - a mistake in my opinion.

Unzip the template zip file on your computer and then upload the includes/languages/english/pure_red_free folder and the two files inside it to includes/languages/english.

What do you mean 'too big' ?
