Flat Rate, Free Shipping Over £30 and Collection

I'm sure I'm not the first person to need this combination but I can't find a thread that outlines this particular scenario. I'm looking for:

Flat rate of £2.95 for shipping up to £30 spend
Free shipping over £30
...plus...
I always want to offer Collect in Person.

If I set up Flat Rate ad Free Shipping Options, I get both offered at the checkout if I spend over £30. If I set Order Total > Shipping > Free Shipping For Orders Over > £30.00 then I am not offered Collect in Person at checkout.

Is there a way I can achieve the above and be offered only two options every time at checkout:

Orders under £30:
Flat Rate: £2.95
Collect in Person: £0.00

Orders Over £30:
Free Shipping: £0.00
Collect in Person: £0.00

One thing which could complicate things is that I have some products which are always free shipping and should not count towards the first £30 spend, but for now I'd be happy to run with the simpler approach above.

You can customize the Flat Rate flat shipping module to only display for orders of <= $30.00 with:

      // disable only when entire cart is free shipping
      if (zen_get_shipping_enabled($this->code)) {
        $this->enabled = ((MODULE_SHIPPING_FLAT_STATUS == 'True') ? true : false);
      }

      if (!IS_ADMIN_FLAG) {
        global $cart;
        if ($_SESSION['cart']->show_total() - $_SESSION['cart']->free_shipping_prices() > 30.00) {
          $this->enabled = false;
        }
      }

Then, use the Free Shipping Options freeoptions for Total >= 30.01 ...

Then use the FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper to manage orders of only Always Free Shipping ...

I've just tried the fix you gave but I can't get it to work.

When I try to check out under 30, I have options of both delivery and collect. When I try to check out over 30 I only get free delivery offered.

I have flat rate (flat), free shipping (freeoption), free delivery! (freeshipper) and collection (storepickup) activated - is that right?

Could you explain, in detail, what you specifically want to see when you have an order for:

Less than $30.00 ...

Equal to $30.00 ...

More than $30.00 ...

The FREE SHIPPING! freeshipper shipping module is used for Orders containing only Products marked as Always Free Shipping or 0 weight, where 0 weight has been defined to mean Free Shipping in the Shipping/Packaging setting ...

Basically just the same as the first person who posted.

Less than $30.00 ... = shipping is charged

Equal to $30.00 ... = shipping is not charged

More than $30.00 ... = shipping is not charged.

All these options display as I want them to. The problem is that when the order total is more than $30, the customer doesn't get a choice between Collection and Free Delivery. Only the Free Delivery option is displayed, and I want them to be able to choose Collection instead if they want.

Below $30, and the customer can choose between Collection and Free Delivery, so that bit is fine.

I haven't got any products in my shop right now which total $30 exactly, so I haven't tested what happens in that situation.

When you want both Free Shipping and other shipping options to work ...

1 Go to Modules ... Order Totals ... Shipping ot_shipping ... and turn off the Free Shipping

2 Go to Modules ... Shipping ... and install the Free Shipping Options freeoptions ... and set the Total to be >= 30.00

Now you will see the Free Shipping Options freeoptions shipping module at the same time as other shipping modules when the total is >= $30.00 ...

Sorry if I'm rehashing this. I implemented what you put on here on my site and its working amazing! So thank you. I had one question, using the code you put down, is there anyway I can also specify a product category. So say I have a if statement that said if they spent more than 100 on something and it was this category of product, they get the free shipping? I know a bit of PHP but I'm not sure how easy of a task it would be to make that happen. Any suggestions?

You would need to customize the code to obtain the price of all the products in the cart for the specific category for this calculation ...

I am not sure if there is an add on that might help with this or not ...

Ok, so I thought of an idea today, let me know what you think.

Basically what I'm doing right now is hard coding shipping options into the shipping page template. All of the shipping modules are installed, but I am using PHP to determine which ones to show, for instance UPS will show up if the city is blah blah blah, and if they are in this city or that city, theres a free shipping option for local delivery. I know you guys probably consider that a no-no, but thats just how I decided to do it. What I was wondering though is there a way to run a strpos search on the item number, like ill tell it, if you find any of this item in the order "first part of model number" then display this shipping option, else display this other shipping option.

I have implemented the Strpos search on the products pages so that it shows see price in cart only on certain items, is it possible to do the strpos search on items in the cart? Thanks!

You should be able to make any customization you need ... however you might look at customizing the shipping modules themselves to determine which are allowed to run when or to limit what peice, such as with only certain pricing on ups or usps etc.

It is really up to you as to which file is best to customize for your needs ...

My issue is similar, but slightly different. I sell lots of small items and want to offer a flat rate for orders including these low weight items. But, I don't want this flat rate to show up on the large items I sell, ie 40 pounds+
For the heavier items, I want only the UPS rates to show

Are all of the Products that are heavy in a single Category where they all use the same Master Category ID?
