remove County dropdown from estimate shipping

Hi, sorry not too sure where this questions fits, I've asked in a really only thread from 2005 but not sure anyone would look at that now so heres my question;

I'm not entirely sure which tpl file to edit and what to edit within the file for this so if someone could help me out I would really appreciate it as I'm trying to get rid of the 'county' dropdown from the estimate shipping page because currently it just shows a blank dropdown with no counties and I dont need it in there anyway as shipping is calculated based on postcode and country.

Ah I see, well as far as i know we've made no mods to the shipping estimator. Simply turned it on. Our site is http://www.thegreatgiftshop.co.uk

Hi, thanks for your response. it's the 'county' drop down not 'country' thats all fine but yes the 'county' dropdown is blank. Will there harm in removing that then? Must I find out why it is blank? Also, it's beyond me why it is I wouldn't actually have the foggiest. :wacko:

I've also just noticed the shipping estimator isn't working properly at all. Firstly, if you go to our website, add something to your cart the shipping estimator doesnt show. You have to click on 'shopping cart' link at the top of the nav bar for the estimator to then appear.

Secondly, if you then input a postcode or select a country from the dropdown and click 'update', the shipping estimators gone again and you have to navigate to the shopping cart as above for it to appear again with the shipping option for the country you've just picked.

Any ideas why this isn't working as should do? We are using the ceon advanced shipper mod, could this be the problem? If so how do we fix?
