can I access customers new passwords?

When customers forget their passwords, they can click on ''Forgotten password?' and are automatically sent a new one. I often get emails complaining that the new one doesnt work. How can I access the emails that record these new passwords?

Re: can I access customers new passwords?

Install the Email Archive Manager and then enable Email Archiving on your store.

Then any problems you can view the email sent by your store.

By the way telling your customers to cut and paste the password will almost always fix the problem. It's usually confusion with letters e.g. a lower case L that is confused with an upper case i in particular fonts.

Re: can I access customers new passwords?

I should add email archiving is turned on as follows:

Configuration >> E-mail options >> Email Archiving Active?
Just set this to true.

Re: can I access customers new passwords?

Note: "forgotten password" emails are not stored in the email archives, for security reasons.

Re: can I access customers new passwords?

Have a look at your old post here.

My V1.3.9h store still archives password forgotten emails so I've just done a fresh install of 1.3.9h to test and that too archives password forgotten emails so I suspect the fix slipped through the cracks.

Re: can I access customers new passwords?

Sorry!

I bet a lot of users have got used to this unintended function though and might want to retain it.

Noted. v2 will allow the admin to reset the customer's password from the admin side, so should make the unexpected feature relatively moot.
