Remove PayPal checkout Button from Shopping Cart page

I have recently added Pay Pal express and it works fine with the exception that a big "Check out with PayPal" button appears on the Shopping Cart Page. Can I get rid og this as it looks as if that is all I take?

The paypal option is on the checkout page as an option where it should be.

If you're using the current version of Zencart, you can turn that off in admin in the Paypal Express configuration.

Your version has serious known security vulnerabilities. You should be upgrading ASAP. And, of course, by doing so you will benefit from the new features.

So I know this question will make you groan but how can I update. Can I do it myself I have FTP access to my site but my server people who normally do this are lots busy.

Remember: practice the upgrade in a copy of your site, and not directly on your live site. Then when you've sorted out any complications, do the upgrade on your live site. That's why the upgrade instructions are written the way they are.

I have 1.3.9d and don't see a way to disable that button. Is there one in mine or do I need the upgrade as well? Thanks!

You need the latest version if you want that option.

I didn't want to spend the time now upgrading everything so just copied the modules/payment part of the upgrade onto the server and that did the trick. Thanks for the help!

I STRONGLY suggest you re-think that approach. There are dependencies on several other core system updates such as functions and classes, and even some modules and templates, that you're missing. Doing what you've done, it's very possible that payments, or even entire checkouts, may fail, perhaps even without you ever knowing about it.

I have some custom mouse over and images but I don't think that's relevant to my current issue.

If you upgrade to 1.3.9g and then 1.3.9h, you will then have a setting in your Express Checkout options to disable the "Checkout with PayPal Express Checkout" button from the shopping-cart page.
