Contact Us Errors

I am getting the exact same contact form errors with a store - I can't post the url as it is live and kicking - but I am totally, totally stuck.

I am using 1.39h, have installed seo urls, have checked my htacess file at the root to make sure it is not rewriting to a https file, have checked config files...

Have changed the email incase that was causing problems, have reloaded the default contact template file in case that was corrupted....

No matter what I do I am getting

I would really appreciate some help and advice as I don't know what to look at next.

For a while now we have been experiencing intermittent problems with mail forwarding from the Contact Us form. When customers try to contact our admin team using the forum they are presented with an Internal Error 500. I have sought assistance numerous times from GoDaddy who quite frankly don't seem to know what they are doing. But who over the past few months have fixed the issue when support tickets are raised which leads me to believe that this is an issue with their servers and not with zencart.

The last time we had this problem they tried to tell me that I had a corrupted htaccess file. So the first thing I tried yesterday was their recommendation of renaming the htaccess, refreshing the site and repeating the action. There was no change - we still could send contact us emails. They are now telling me to try checking my error logs. Of course those are not available via GoDaddy - or should I say the server creates logs - we just don't have access to the log files. I installed Dr Bytes Error logging file and tried again. No error logs are generated, so I assume from this that there is no PHP error to be logged in the cache.

We are working on v1.3.8a with security patch
Apache shared VPS with MySQL 5.0

I have other forms working on the site that I generated using external forms services. As we cannot continue having this problem is there anything that would prevent me from setting up my own contact form and substituting the tpl_contact_us_default.php file.

I would do it inline but I am not sure which file/command the "send" button triggers.

Any help that you can give me would be most gratefully received.

Thanks in advance - my problem is resolved. I have deleted the Zencart Contact Us form and modified the define_contact_us.php and the tpl_contact_us_default.php files to take an external custom form, thus bypassing the php mailer.
